Rhetorical Analysis of the U.S Army Advertisement â€Å"Army Strong† Campaign Christina DoBynes DeVry University Rhetorical Analysis of the U.S Army Advertisement â€Å"Army Strong† Campaign When you see a solider in his or her uniform, you are proud that they are serving this country to protect our freedom, securing our country, and defending democracy worldwide. The solider can come from different branches of the Military. The one you might be familiar with is the U.S. Army. These soldiers are well respected and prepared to serve our country whenever and wherever needed, combat-ready at all times, and trained to counter any threat, anywhere. In 2007, the United States Army department published a recruitment ad for U.S.†¦show more content†¦Armed Forces that is made up of the best-trained, most dedicated, most respected Soldiers in the world. An example of if you believe you are strong, then you should believe that you can be Army Strong in the big white bold print. In the pathos or emotion, the United States Army uses â€Å"Army Strong† as their slogan to represent what they stand for. For example, they show how proud the solider is to his little girl because he defends for her by protecting America’s freedom. In the small bold print, the statement is gives an expression of good will by stating the United States Army can help the target audience use the promise of enjoyment that if you join their forces that you will be â€Å"Army Strong† that comes from the character, discipline and job training that they can provide as well as money for college.† In return, they promise of gain that if they join the Army they will â€Å"earn the type of respect that goes beyond a salute.† If target audience does join, the promise of enjoyment which is they will experience what Army Strong really means. The United States Army can be very persuasive in recruit people to join their forces by using reasoning, character, and emotion in their recruitment advertisements. The recruit Ad appeals to reader with common sense, their beliefs or values. Their character came for the U.S. Army credibility which is the United States government that is very familiar to America as well as around the world.
